A two year period of research on the fatigue characteristics of titanium alloys has been completed. Many of the aims of the program have been achieved. However, due to the late receipt of a large number of the test specimens, not all of the testing and study of the low cycle fatigue behavior investigations could be completed on schedule. Despite the extra costs involved, we expect to complete the test portion of the program by the end of 1980. Research on fatigue crack growth and the effects of overloads as well as a study of creep crack growth in a titanium alloy has been completed. (Author)
